Questions families ask on a first visit
On site visits, the same questions come up again and again, and they are good ones. Which plot would be mine, and can I stand on it? Who are the people on the farm every day? Where does the water come from in April? What happens to my plot if I cannot visit for a year? How will I hear about what is happening? Ask them all, and ask to see the answers on the ground, not just in the brochure. A farm team that is proud of its work will be happy to show you the pump house, the dairy and the records.

What nobody should promise you
Farm income depends on weather, crop health and market prices, and land values can go down as well as up. Be wary of any “guaranteed” return, fixed yield or buy-back promise. Read our risk disclosure, and ask any provider to show you their working.
